EPMA PM Summer School 2020

EPMA has decided to remain cautious with the international Covid crisis context and therefore to cancel the Summer School initially planned on July 2020. We are pleased to inform you that it has been rescheduled to next year and will still take place in Ciudad Real, Spain, but now in July 2021.

By Air

The nearest airport is Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) located in the north-east of Madrid, Barajas district, 12 kilometres from the centre of Madrid, the capital of Spain. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas is the first Spanish airport in terms of passenger traffic with four terminals (T1, T2, T3 and T4). Then, travel from Madrid to Ciudad Real is easy by train from Madrid Atocha train station.

There are 4 transportation options from Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) to Atocha train station; bus, taxi, metro and train.
Taxi: the most convenient option is taking a Madrid airport taxi at a cost of €35.
Train: A cheaper option is to take the train. Tickets are €3.40 and the journey is approximately 35 minutes. The train arrives at terminal 4, so if you are arriving at terminal 1,2 or 3 you must take the internal bus and head to terminal 4 on floor -1.
Metro: Another option is the metro. Tickets are €5 one-way and the journey takes 40 minutes. The metro station is located inside the Madrid-Barajas airport with two different stations at Terminal 2 and Terminal 4. If you arriving at Terminal 1 or 3 you can catch the free bus to either Terminal 2 or Terminal 4.
Bus: This takes longer than the other options (60 minutes), the bus is a 24/7 express bus from Madrid-Barajas airport to Atocha Station. The bus is yellow and it has 3 stops in Barajas airport, terminals T4, T2, T1. Tickets cost €5 per person and can be purchased on the bus. Buses accept cash only.

By Train

The train station has excellent high-speed AVE train links connecting Madrid to Ciudad Real Station. The city is one of the stops on the frequent Madrid to Seville Santa Justa route. As a result, Ciudad Real benefits from around 20 daily high-speed trains connecting to the capital in each direction. The average journey time is just 50 minutes. You can find out more and buy your train tickets on RENFE website. Round-trip tickets cost around €50-60. 

From Ciudad Real train station, there's no public transportation to go to the hotel Doña Carlota or to the University, you can either take a taxi (€5) or by walking (20 minutes).

By Car

Ciudad Real is located 190 km from Madrid and 325 km from Seville. From Madrid, you can take the N-420 highway (Seville direction), it will take approximately 2h 30m to reach Ciudad Real. Free parking is available outside the hotel.
